While waiting for mum to knock off work, i caught the movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth" at lido. I'd rate it **/*****. Mainly for the compelling idea of setting the movie in the centre of the earth. On the other hand the visual effects and the characters attempt to escape weren't realistic at all.
Then i recalled having bible study with kel a couple of years ago. There i first came across the fact that heaven was perhaps in 2 places. The centre of the earth could possibly be paradise or also known as the Bosom of Abraham. Where sheol/hades was thought to be divided into 2 parts; abode for the righteous dead and literally hell for the wicked dead. So to speak, what we refer to heaven and hell actually share the same location!
The bible records that Enoch and Elijah walked with God and disappeared, which means they never did physically die. Hence, some believe they are in paradise. On judgment day we'd then rise to heaven with Jesus and the righteous in the "waiting room".
It's slightly mind-boggling, but we'd never truly know would we? Unless we erm ... hahaha okay... That aside, i choose to believe. Of course the bottom line is most people want to go to heaven (i mean eternity is a really looong loooooong time, and i'd like to think i'm living somewhere NOT hotter than Singapore). But from here to eternity, what truly matters is our faithfulness on earth.
